Winglink Travel Limited, one of the leading independent travel management companies in Tanzania, today announced that it has joined BCD Travel, one of the largest global travel management companies, as its exclusive representative and official Partner.
Winglink Travel Limited was established in 1998 and has grown to be one of the leading travel agencies based in Tanzania dealing with travel services for various corporates, NGOs and Ministries. An IATA and TASOTA accredited travel company delivering a comprehensive suite of solutions for business and leisure travellers. With 20 employees operating from two locations in Dar Es Salaam and Arusha, the company services both national and multinational corporations from across the industry spectrum.
BCD Travel simplifies and streamlines the corporate travel process, helping companies manage and control the movement of their people, information and resources. The company focuses on implementing an integrated, seamless technology platform throughout all global locations to provide full access to, and analysis of, travel data for these clients. Clients can take advantage of BCD Travel’s presence and technology infrastructure to track every trip, every traveler, and the costs incurred throughout every journey.
“To speak of the increasing globalization of today’s marketplace is to repeat what has become commonplace. But the ability to provide real, workable solutions to the companies operating in that marketplace is far less common – and that is precisely what BCD Travel does,” said Greg O’Neil, BCD Travel’s managing director & senior vice president of Growth & Emerging Markets. “Our expansion into Tanzania means we are now better positioned than ever before to deliver our travel solutions to national and multinational customers around the globe.”
Faiza Punja, Wing Link’s managing partner, said, "I am confident that being with the BCD Travel network is the best move for us, because we believe that our understanding of the local market together with BCD Travel's strong global reach and credibility will provide major benefits for us both. BCD Travel shares our philosophy for growth and success in the region, and we are excited by the decision to forge a strategic partnership with BCD Travel for corporate travel management solutions in Tanzania. We will continue to service our existing clients with every attention to detail and will work together to foster new business development growth and enhance our overall service offering.”
At the end of 2007 BCD Travel took the strategic decision to develop Africa within its hub strategy, followed in March this year with the appointment of a strategic development manager (SDM) for the region, tasked with driving expansion and business development, introducing new technology and operational processes and raising awareness of the BCD Travel brand.
With the signing of Winglink and new Partners in another four markets (Gabon, Madagascar, Mauritius, Senegal), BCD Travel announced last week that it has more than doubled its presence in sub-Saharan Africa. This growth will continue with another five markets being launched in the coming months. This expansion builds on the existing presence in eight other countries, and means that BCD Travel can deliver its unique travel management solutions to national, regional and global corporations located across the African continent.
